Appropriate and relevant internationally, Lower Secondary has been designed to be culturally sensitive. It includes top-quality teaching and assessment resources appropriate for teaching and learning in local and international schools. It provides excellent preparation for IGCSE and any other challenging curriculum. It builds on the primary stage, and develops children’s knowledge and skills of the three key subject areas, Mathematics, English and Science.

This Curriculum Framework identifies a set of learning objectives for English, Mathematics and Science for each year of lower secondary education and provides a structure that focuses on what students should be able to do at the end of each stage. It also covers all learning objectives assessed in Cambridge Checkpoint – providing the option of using Cambridge Checkpoint tests, which are externally set and marked

The two types of assessments within the CLSP stage are TIPS semester exams and Cambridge Checkpoint. Cambridge Checkpoint tests are for use during grade VIII, in the month of October.  They are assessed by CIE and provide an external international benchmark for student performance.

The offered holistic curriculum for lower secondary followed by TIPS is unique as it is designed for smooth transition towards IGCSE and is based on the prior learning in primary years.
